    Hi all,

    I am coming back to Red Hook, but this time I'm bringing along a bunch of family. I have been thoroughly frustrated at trying to secure a SUV or Van rental that will hold 8 people. Most seem to max out at 7. We will be there for a week in April.

    Does anyone have a suggestion on if this is even available on the island?

    Hi Jack - I don't see why not. Give Dependable Car a shout, there's also the other standards...Hertz, Avis, Budget.

    Just to follow up. There are NO rentals on the island that will handle 8 passengers. We were forced to hire the island mafia transportation service (otherwise known as the VI Taxi Authority) to get around at exorbitant prices.

    6 is the max capacity we found...barely. Good thing we only have 6 of us...but luggage may be an issue. We ended up going with a Dodge Durango from a local company. A rep from the villa we are renting will also help with luggage.
