Island Girl

Cecily – Magens Bay Beach Girl

Meet Cecily (pronounced Sess-i-lee), another one of our favorite beach servers on Magens Bay.

Cecily came to St. Thomas from Lake Tahoe and has been bringing drinks to beachgoers for the past four months. When she’s not serving sips by the sea you can find Cecily and her trademark dreds in Red Hook working as a server at The Cellar and East End Cafe. Cecily is a hustler at Magens Bay, and while she will pause for a quick conversation and a smile (or a picture!) she will rush right off again to make sure no one is thirsty.

Her favorite drink? A BBC – Bailey’s Banana Colada. When you see Cecily walking on by remember to tell her St. Thomas Blog said hello!

Off she goes, see you next time!

Get started in what? It’s no different than moving to any new place I guess.

    Detlev Said,

    Hi folks,

I stayed in St. Thomas in 1989, just before Hugo arrived, in a little hotel upside the hill with view to the bay. Can you help me with the name of the hotel? It was a small danish house, managed by an NY guy and his German friend, who served at the 1829 hotel. It was realy beautifull.
    Is ist still there?

    Tony Said,

I lived there for two ys btwn 07 and 08. There are ups and downs just like anywhere else. Driving is a downside. The locals are either very friendly or very intimidating. All in all I’m glad I did it but equally glad to be back!
