Youth Lifeline America Charity Golf Tournament

Last Friday I played in the Roland Williams Charity Golf Tournament, Youth Lifeline America at Mahogany Run St. Thomas. I played on team Southland Gaming so big thanks to Shaine Gaspard for sponsoring the St. Thomas Blog. We represented well with a solid 4 under par :)

Here I am (from left to right) with Youth Lifeline America creator Roland Williams, sponsor Shaine Gaspard, Southland Gaming, and celebrity Bill Bellamy.

Thanks to Roland for making me,  a 5’9 220lb man look tiny :) oh and look at those Super Bowl Rings on my right shoulder!

Roland Williams is a Super Bowl Champion XXXIV and retired National Football League Tight End, he founded Youth Lifeline America to give athletes, business professionals and entertainers a chance to make a difference in the lives of young people.

Thanks to all for a great day!

Golf In St. Thomas – Mahogany Run

I’ve finally taken up golf :) And it ain’t easy fo-sho. It’s one difficult game and we have a pretty tough course to play on here in St. Thomas. I decided to take lessons from Veronica at Mahogany Run. When I first started I could barely swing the club and in just 8 lessons she’s got me playing respectably for a newbie, thanks Veronica :)

Mahogany Run Golf course is a course you can lose a lot of balls on. It’s narrow and unforgiving but very fun to play. If you hit it out of bounds kiss your ball goodbye, like in the ocean goodbye.

I’ve been playing regularly now for a few weeks, actually it’s my 8th round last Monday. One of my friends I’ve been playing with is the owner of Jack’s Restaurant, Steve Danesi. Steve’s been playing for a while now and here he is on a par 3 where he gets on in 1 and pars the hole:

Here I am teeing off on hole 11 (I think):

I pushed the ball right on this one as you can tell by Steve’s reaction at the end of the video…”Ouch”. Thanks Steve :)

I did happen to get my first birdie ever on hole 8, which I’m told is pretty tough. I then parred 9, two holes of good golf back to back :)
