Big Kahuna
Sandy

Just saw this picture making the rounds on fbook. Caption: Image by Dave Curren of a boat that tried to go out the Belmar Inlet (NJ).
Incredible. How many stories will be told from this storm of people who A) never evacuated and risked the lives of rescuers or B) tried to evacuate too late and paid the price. You can never be too careful.

I hope that everyone in the path of this super-storm heeded the precautions that have been on the weather headlines for the past week.
From weather.com:
…”history is being written as an extreme weather event continues to unfold, one which will occupy a place in the annals of weather history as one of the most extraordinary to have affected the United States…”
Wow. To those who like to stand and watch the big waves or, worse, tempt to surf them…don’t be a moron. Mother Nature doesn’t like morons. The article continues with more impressive information of what this storm is really all about. You can read it here.

For those East Coasters hunkered down in their homes, stay safe. For those who have already had to evacuate, be strong.
For all those reporters currently on my TV who love, LOVE, to stand in the surf and tell us how big the waves are; get in your news van and get back to the office.
I hope this storm breaks apart fast, the flooding is minimal, and the power outages short.
