MTV Real World St. Thomas Soon Come

Here’s a blurry picture of where the MTV Real World St. Thomas will be set up. They will be shuttling back and forth from Hassle Island to St. Thomas using power boats.

Rumor has it they will be hitting up several bars/restaurants and raising some hell. Does the St. Thomas Blog know what bars? Yes, but we’ve been sworn to secrecy but some of the bars rhyme with Baloon, Matty’s, Schmetsy’s, Barz and many others.

We’ll be posting on their shenanigans during the course of their “vacation”.

The St. Thomas Blog would like to extend an open invitation to the producers of the Real World if they would like to work with us :)

    Sarah Said,

Ah! Has this been confirmed? I second your open invite to MTV production; AMG needs sales people and radio personalities :)

    BostonJohn Said,

Real world my @ss!! These people are so far from a real life that the thought of these clowns coming here as a positive is a joke. The bars will most likely be giving free drinks for the air time. By the way those who watch this show are not the ones most likely to come here and spend money. What’s next the Virgin shores show??? Let’s all remember that this is a staged show with a few people looking for air time. If only we could be this excited for the arrival of the travel medical people that. One here and take care of us and spend real money. Welcome to the VI cast of fake world please try not to make an @ss of yourselves.

    BIG Kahuna Said,

@BostonJohn, so I take it you don’t like the Real World ;) Any TV show that can potentially get people to visit us is a good thing. The demographic on this show is 16-24 year olds and if they see STT as a fun place people may visit us.

  5. February 23, 2012 @ 7:55 pm

    Sarah Said,

Agreed. Hope it will encourage that spring break destination demographic to visit and spend :)

    Pirate93 Said,

Well any publicity is good publicity. Real World generally ranks #1 in ratings for the demographic 12-34 and has 2.2 million people watching every episode. They also can easily spend $2 million in productions cost at a location so St. Thomas will be getting a decent shot in the arm for the tourism industry during their time on Island.

    Pluto Said,

Some of the Real Housewives of NY were in STT/STJ a couple of years ago:

    and

plus other links you can easily find.

Some scenes of Weekend at Bernies II were staged in STT (I forget which hotel/beach but it’s findable).

AND I just saw a movie which included scenes in the post office square and in the area by the fountain near the water front in STT.

So, STT is not media shy one bit. Never has been.

@englishtycoon, you’re too old for the Real World ;)

    BostonJohn Said,

I second the English man!!! How about attracting wealthy people who have the means. The 18-24 aren’t coming here for spring break. They do what all of us did go to a cheap place like the Dominican!! We have no real all inclusives that cater to that crowd. You are all pulling a Disney move and wishing upon a star. How about wishing we get some Federal help not some self promoting jack asses. Wait I thing we should invite Jack ass here. They could bring in millions they could try and drive on our roads. Then they could try and walk through downtown and not get hassled then they could try and walk through hospital grounds at night. Now that could bring in exposure. Lol!

    englishtycoon Said,

The first season was shoot right by me in Soho, it was good. After that it just attracted Douche bags playing up to the Cameras. Scott remember the big fight in the Boston one. Temptation Island totally ruined Belize

    BIG Kahuna Said,

Belize is ruined? I don’t even remember Temptation Island :)

    Sweet revenge Said,

By all means lets play up the shootings we have here. And not film shootings, lol. Not all college kids are cheap @Bostonjohn) sorry you had bad spring breaks, lol. I think you are thinking Disney if you think the roads and life here will improve soon-hell we can’t even (won’t) prosecute the government crooks who are stealing the potential road money–At lease somebody has fooled MTV into shooting here–possibly good publicity-viewers up to 34 means more than college break kids with disposable income. the good news is we still have freedom of speach

  14. February 25, 2012 @ 3:39 pm

    BostonJohn Said,

I love to get people talking!! Sweet Revenge I stand on my soap box screaming for the Feds to come here. Until they do and lock up all this criminals nothing will change. These guys think they can do it all. Instead of making this place look perfect for the camera in the hopes people will come we would be better off letting them and the world see how messed up this place is. Spring break is for the Dominican and Mexico. Thank God we aren’t that bad yet but the politicians are trying.

    Erin Midwest Said,

I agree with Sarah, BIG Kahuna, and Sweet Revenge that this is publicity. I know very little about St. Thomas or that demographic area. I’m a fan of the real world and from the continental United States. I’m looking forward to learning more about this location on the new season of the Real World.
